    DID YOU KNOW?

    A group of researchers from the University of Louisville, along with researchers from Japan and Austria, became the first to identify a protein (AF1q) associated with multiple myeloma and extramedullary disease (EMD). William Tse, MD, the Marion F. Beard Endowed Chair in Hematology and chief of the Division of Blood and Bone Marrow Transplantation at UofL, was the senior investigator on the project.

    UofL Today with Mark Hebert

    1.) WHAS-TV, Great Day Live

    Mondays at 9:30 a.m. UofL’s Mark Hebert has a story about UofL and talks with Rachel Platt and Terry Meiners about campus events.  Segments can be found on YouTube.

    5.) Webinar: ‘What’s New at the NIH? Requirements to Address Rigor and Reproducibility in Research Grant Applications’

    After this webinar you will understand revisions to NIH proposal content requirements and peer review criteria to include assessment of rigor and reproducibility in research. You will also become familiar with diverse resources available to help investigators meet new requirements to address key aspects of rigor and reproducibility in grant applications.

    6.) Nucleus offering LaunchIT training program for entrepreneurs

    Application due August 1; program Thursdays from Aug. 25 thru Nov. 3, 6 to 9 p.m. (No class on Oct. 27); JD Nichols Campus for Innovation & Entrepreneurship

    Designed for researchers interested in having their innovations reach consumers through licensing to an existing company or through a startup. LaunchIt will provide framework to critically evaluate commercial potential of innovative products, services and the path to successfully reach the consumer. The EVPRI is offering a competitive opportunity to provide partial tuition reimbursement to full-time UofL faculty/staff/students who successfully complete the program.
