DID YOU KNOW?
The University of Louisville is sending 34 swimmers to the U.S. Olympic Trials, June 26-July 3, in Omaha, Nebraska, where they will compete for a spot on the U.S. Olympic Team. This is the highest amount the program has ever qualified for the meet. The Cardinals had no qualifiers in 2004, five in 2008 and 23 in 2012.

Passport Health Plan has announced an eighth cycle of funding for the research and demonstration projects initiative entitled Improved Health Outcomes Program (iHOP). The iHOP Cycle IX program is seeking proposals from groups and individuals for initiatives that improve quality, access, efficiency, and cost of health care for Medicaid recipients and uninsured individuals in Kentucky. Letters of Intent must be received by July 13.

3.) Cards Under the Stars featuring ‘Zootopia’ is tonight
June 24, 6:30 p.m., on the lawn between the Natural Sciences Building and Grawemeyer Hall, movie begins at dusk; Free admission
Cards Under the Stars featuring “Zootopia’ is Friday June 24. Bring a blanket, lawn chairs and a cooler or purchase concessions onsite food trucks Hi-Five Doughnuts and 502 Café. Activities include inflatables, crafts, and appearance by the Louisville League of Mascots. The UofL police department will also be at the event, including K-9 officer Sam, to show the department’s Segway, ATVs and bicycles used for patrol. Cards under the Stars is sponsored by Commonwealth Credit Union.

This webinar will help you: Assess your current institutional definition in view of the historic US definition of research misconduct; Understand what the advantages and disadvantages of aligning with the Federal definition for research misconduct are; Compare and contrast different federal agency interpretations and enforcement of their definitions of misconduct; and Understand the implications of other countries’ definition of research misconduct.

5.) Development of new hearing tests for children with autism

The Division of Communicative Disorders is investigating new hearing tests for
children with autism. We are currently recruiting children between the ages of 7 and 17 years of age who have received a diagnosis of autism. Participants are asked to listen to sounds or speech over headphones and provide a response. The study takes approximately 1.5 hours and eligible participants will receive a $20 swift card for their participation.

Beyond simply decreasing your stress, this evidence-based KORU workshop will help you learn skills to find more satisfaction in your daily life. The course is designed to help you learn mindfulness through the practice of specific skills that calm and focus your mind and through the practice of meditation. If you are feeling pressured and stressed, or are just interested in learning a new skill that can enrich your life, these classes are for you. Beginners and experienced meditators welcome.
