Did you know … Virginia Tech is one of three public universities in the United States with both an active Corps of Cadets and a “civilian” lifestyle on campus (the others are Texas A&M and North Georgia College and State University). Lyman Draper made collecting trips throughout Kentucky and other states to chronicle and document the lives of the earliest pioneers. Jim Holmberg of the Filson staff will describe how Draper was both praised and vilified for his collecting activities. The Filson is part of UofL’s Center for Arts and Culture Partnerships.

2.) Digital Media Academy students to showcase work

Please join us for a showcase of digital media projects created by Louisville middle school students who have spent the last two weeks “Designing Their Futures” through image manipulation and video editing. We will highlight their collaborative video projects, their individual image and video creations, and our camp reflections, stories and outtakes about our experiences working together with digital media. Sponsored by the English Department and Liberal Studies.
