1.) Root Cellar to sell veggies on campus
3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. June 27, University Club parking lot
UofL has partnered with the Root Cellar to make fresh food products (blueberries, blackberries, black raspberries, cucumbers, squash, tomatoes, onions, dairy products, grains, syrups and meats) available for faculty, staff and students to purchase. Come visit and make a walk-up purchase.

2.) National HIV Testing Day & Red Ribbon Garden
11 a.m. June 27 Jefferson Square Park, bounded by Jefferson Street, Armory Place and Sixth Street
Free
Approximately 1,000 red ribbons will be “planted” to represent Jefferson County residents who are living with HIV. The Metro Public Health and Wellness mobile unit also will be at the park providing free, confidential HIV testing. Event organizers are Metro Public Health and Wellness, Volunteers of America, AIDS Service Center Coalition, Project Compassion of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Karen Krigger in UofL Family and Geriatric Medicine and several area churches.

3.) Cooking demonstration at the Gray Street Farmers Market

At this week’s 20/20 Talk, Amber Barnes, RD, LD, wellness dietitian at UofL Hospital, will be cooking up some “Fun with Veggies,” making savory vegetable pancakes. In just 20 minutes you can watch a cooking demonstration, grab a sample and cool off from the summer heat. Visit our website for a video archive and schedule of upcoming presentations.

Do you carry around flash drives or an iPad for work and personal use? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you should be aware of the type of data you are working with, any compliance requirements that apply to it, and the ways to protect it. 7.) People age 18 and older needed for a research study of depression
University of Louisville Healthcare Outpatient Center, 401 East Chestnut St., Suite 610
Free to qualifying participants
The study of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for depression, conducted at the UofL Depression Center, will compare the conventional form of CBT with a newer, innovative model that uses computer-assisted instruction in addition to individual sessions. To qualify, participants must be over 18, have a primary diagnosis of depression and be willing to commit to a 16-week course of therapy, followed by two visits at three and six months post-therapy.
