DID YOU KNOW UofL is hosting 20 middle school girls this week for the Digital Media Academy day camp. The doctoral program in rhetoric and composition in the College of Arts and Sciences offers the free camp for students chosen from Lincoln Elementary Performing Arts School, Cochran Elementary School and J.B. Atkinson Academy for Excellence. Begun in 2014, the academy is designed to increase the girls’ problem-solving and storytelling confidence and technological competence.
FACULTY AND STAFF NOTABLES The Urban History Association has chosen UofL’s Cate Fosl as its Scholar-Activist of the Month. Fosl is a professor of Women’s and Gender Studies and director of the Anne Braden Institute for Social Justice Research. The Urban History Association’s blog about Fosl is available online.
