1.) Be aware of downtown traffic issues Friday
The motorcade and memorial service for Muhammad Ali Friday is expected to cause severe traffic congestion in and around downtown Friday, June 10. The motorcade will begin at 9 a.m. and will travel from Bardstown Road north to the Watterson Expressway to I-65 North, passing near Belknap Campus, then to I-64 West to the 9th Street exit, down Muhammad Ali Boulevard to 34th Street, returning east on Broadway to Cave Hill Cemetery. Rolling roadblocks will be set up throughout the route from about 9:30 a.m. to about 10:30 a.m. The 2 p.m. memorial service is expected to disrupt traffic on and around Main Street for much of the afternoon. Please find alternate routes if you need to travel to and from offices on either campus.
2.) 21st Annual RBAA Golf Scramble planned
June 25, 7 a.m. registration; Crossings Golf Club; $60
The Red Barn Alumni Association (RBAA) 21st Annual Golf Scramble is Saturday, June 25 at the Crossings Golf Club in Brooks, Kentucky. Registration is at 7 a.m. with shotgun start at 8 a.m. The $60 registration includes 18 holes of championship golf, cart and lunch. For the 7th year, the winning team goes to Pinehurst Course #2 and #4 to compete in the Acura College Alumni Team Championship, October 27-30. Registration deadline June 13.
