The Kentucky Autism Training Center is part of Louisville’s first Autism Friendly Business Initiative, a certification program designed for local businesses to provide training in Autism awareness and understanding. KATC, FEAT of Louisville, the University of Louisville Autism Center, and Meaningful Day Services with the Autism Friendly Community worked together to develop the program.

SSRN, an online library of social science research, has named several Brandeis School of Law faculty members as among its most-downloaded authors. In the law category, Professor Tony Arnold, Dean Susan Duncan and Law Library Associate Director Kurt Metzmeier are ranked in the top 10 percent of article downloads. Several faculty members are ranked in the top 10 percent of downloads overall.

Latest response to SACS is now online
UofL’s response to its accrediting agency regarding issues raised by a recent audit of the UofL Foundation and its relationship with the university is now online. The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges requested information regarding three areas raised by the Kentucky State Auditor’s report in December. UofL submitted a corrective action plan to the state auditor’s office in February. The university continues to work with the legislature and SACS to address issues that led to UofL being put on probation in December. The recent report to SACS is available here.
UofL Women’s Basketball tickets available for Monday’s game
The UofL Women’s Basketball team will face Tennessee Monday at the KFC Yum! Center with a trip to the Sweet 16 on the line. Tickets are on sale, including a family 4-pack for $10 per ticket. They are available online.
PeopleSoft Financials System undergoing system maintenance
The PeopleSoft Financials System will be unavailable starting at 6pm on Friday, March 24 due to system maintenance. We anticipate the system being available on Monday, March 27 by 8 a.m. University Reports will not be affected and should be available as usual during that time. Please note: While there are no significant functionality changes as a result of this maintenance, there are some aesthetic changes and new navigation options. A brief overview of the navigation changes and options is available online, under ‘Outlining Updates’ and ‘Expense Reports’ links. If you would like to see a demo in person, we will be having sessions on March 22 in Strickler 101 at 9 a.m. on Belknap, and March 23 at 9 a.m. in Kornhauser LC 103 on the HSC campus.
Graduation Celebration presented by the University of Louisville Cultural Center

The Cultural Center Graduation Celebration is an opportunity for the university to acknowledge the achievements of underrepresented students. This annual event recognizes all underrepresented students who are graduating from UofL in 2017, including May, Summer and December graduates. This year’s celebration will feature an alumni keynote speaker, music that will reflect the occasion, and individual recognition. The Health Sciences Center (HSC) Office of Diversity and Inclusion announces that applications are now available for the entering fall 2017 cohort of Health and Social Justice Scholars. This initiative provides a unique opportunity of educating professional and doctoral students in an interprofessional manner to produce high quality scholarly activities related to health equity, health and healthcare disparities, social justice, and healthcare innovation with the goal of benefitting underserved and disadvantaged populations. ‘Presidents as the Problem: Reining in the Cult of the American President’

The McConnell Center’s “Promises & Perils of the American Presidency” public lecture series continues with a talk by Gene Healy, JD, vice president of the Cato Institute. Author of “The Cult of the Presidency,” Healy notes that Americans have increasingly expanded presidential power over recent decades by expecting the president to provide solutions for all national problems. He argues that the president’s role needs to return to its constitutionally defined limits.
