    In 1957, a decision was made to build the Rauch Memorial Planetarium at the University of Louisville. The groundbreaking ceremony was held in 1961 for the planetarium, which is named after the late Rabbi Joseph Rauch, leader of the Adath Israel Congregation for 44 years.

    This class will help you develop a toned physique and will help improve total ab strength with various ab exercises in just 15 minutes. Suitable for all fitness levels.

    Experience Get Healthy Now’s mindfulness offerings in collaboration with Dr. Paul Salmon, associate professor in psychological and brain sciences. Experience the many health-enhancing benefits of reflection, stillness and being fully present. Come to a free Tuesday evening session or deepen your practice with the eight-session MBSR program ($80).

    3.) Make a splash with Get Healthy Now water fitness

    Are you looking for a form of exercise that is easy on the joints and big on fun? Join Get Healthy Now’s Water Fitness class for the 2016 summer semester. The benefits of this class include increased energy, better sleep, relief from joint pain and more. Suitable for all fitness levels and no swimming skills needed (hair can stay dry or not).

    4.) Follow the McConnell Scholars blog from China

    Shiping Hua, PhD, the Calvin and Helen Lang Distinguished Chair in Asian Studies and a political science professor at UofL, is guiding a group of eight McConnell Scholars to the People’s Republic of China May 9 through June 6. The group will study and tour in Shanghai, Beijing and Xi’an over four weeks. This is Hua’s 11th year to guide the group of rising senior McConnell Scholars. Students will blog about their experiences online.

    5.) Blackboard Spring 2014 courses to be deleted

    Blackboard courses from the spring of 2014 (4142) will be archived and deleted after Wednesday, June 29. This is a semi-annual process by the Delphi Center that frees up server space for new courses. If you have a specific need to keep a spring 2014 course available beyond June 29, please submit a request by that date.
