    A new feature film, “The Legend of Tarzan” is scheduled for release July 1. To mark the occasion, UofL’s Archives and Special Collections will exhibit editions in more than 30 languages of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ classic, “Tarzan of the Apes.” The books represent only a fraction of UofL’s Edgar Rice Burroughs Collection, celebrated as the largest institutional collection of Burroughs worldwide

    2.) POSTPONED to June 3: Cards Under the Stars featuring ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’

    June 3, 6:30 p.m., on the lawn between the Natural Sciences Building and Grawemeyer Hall, movie begins at dusk; Free admission

    Due to predicted rain, Cards Under the Stars featuring “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is now Friday, June 3. Grab a blanket, lawn chairs and a cooler and bring the family for a fun-filled night of activities and a screening of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” Let the kids enjoy our inflatable park, play games and meet Star Wars characters. Bring a picnic or purchase concessions onsite. And don’t forget, Cards under the Stars returns June 24 with “Zootopia” and July 22 with “Inside Out.” Cards under the Stars is sponsored by Commonwealth Credit Union.

    4.) Childhood Obesity in Children 10 to less than 14 year olds

    The UofL Kosair Charities Pediatric Clinical Research Unit at Kosair Children’s Hospital is conducting a research study to evaluate the effect of an investigational product on childhood obesity. White and African American male and female subjects 10 to less than 14 years old who are overweight, obese or normal weight may be eligible. If a child qualifies to participate, he or she will receive the product or placebo and study related care at no cost. Compensation will be provided for time/travel.

    5.) Autism study for children 4 to 10 years old

    The UofL Kosair Charities Pediatric Clinical Research Unit at Kosair Children’s Hospital is conducting a clinical research study to evaluate how a medication treats abnormal EEG’s without seizures, as well as behavioral and neurological symptoms, in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). If a child qualifies to take part in this research study, he/she will receive the study medication or placebo and study-related care at no cost. Parents will be offered compensation for time/travel.
