DID YOU KNOW?
There are more than 150 farmers markets in Kentucky spanning 106 counties and including 2,500 vendors, according to the Kentucky agriculture department. Two are right here at UofL every Thursday during the season: The Belknap market, which begins its second year today, and the Gray Street market, which is in its seventh year.

1.) Gray Street: Try some curly kale!
Thursdays through Oct. 29, rain or shine, 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., 400 block of East Gray Street
Some items available today will include: Curly kale, Swiss chard, radishes, collards, cilantro, cherries, strawberries, asparagus, onions, tomatoes, spinach, lettuce, peas, chicken, beef, pork, eggs, whole-grain bread, sourdough beer pretzel baguettes, everything bagels, fried fruit pies, cranberry orange granola, blueberry lemon bread, local honey, caramel granola cookies, ginger cookies, strawberry cabernet jam, maple syrup, strawberry orange jam, dried apples, frozen blueberries, apple butter, apple turnovers, Kentucky kettle corn. Lunch trucks: V-Grits (southern-style vegan cuisine) and Sweet ‘N’ Savory (crepes, smoothies, gelato, frozen coffee).

Mark your calendars for the annual Belknap Campus Ice Cream Social, this year featuring Comfy Cow ice cream! Watch UofL Today for details next week. The Health Sciences Center Ice Cream Social will be scheduled at a later date.
4.) Last chance: 2015 Open Walls exhibit registration due today
Exhibit June 4-26, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Photographic Archives gallery, Ekstrom Library lower level
Registration due today by 5 p.m.; opening reception June 4 at noon
Registration is still open for the 5th annual Open Walls exhibit of artwork by UofL faculty and staff, scheduled for June 4 to 26 in the Photographic Archives gallery in the lower level of Ekstrom Library. The exhibit is an opportunity for faculty and staff who are not professional or exhibited artists to share their work. All media (i.e., paintings, photographs, woodworking, mixed media, fiber arts, jewelry, crafts) accepted. Click on these links for the guidelines and the registration form. An opening reception has been scheduled for June 4 at noon.

5.) Cards Under the Stars: It’s the ‘Frozen’ sing-along!
May 29, 6:30 p.m., on the lawn between the Natural Sciences Building and Grawemeyer Hall, movie begins at dusk
Free admission
Grab a blanket, lawn chairs and a cooler and bring the family for a fun-filled night of music with monster Disney hit “Frozen,” the sing-along version. Let the kids enjoy our inflatable park, play games, meet local mascots and special guests Anna and Elsa. Bring a picnic or purchase concessions from Sweet ‘N’ Savory food truck and Red Top Gourmet Hot Dogs. And don’t forget, Cards Under Stars returns June 26 with “Big Hero 6” and July 24 with a movie to be determined by campus-wide vote.

6.) Notice to Cold Room users
New Cold Room Storage and Use procedures have been posted on the UofL Department of Environmental Health and Safety website. These procedures outline measures that can be taken to reduce common Cold Room problems such as mold growth, chemical safety hazards and structural compromise.

Please join us as Nicolette Deveneau, MD, one of our female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery fellows, will present Fecal Incontinence and Other Defecatory Problems. She will discuss what the initial evaluation is all about, describe non-surgical and surgical options for fecal incontinence and she will also describe the treatments for constipation.

Please join us for the 13th Annual Dunbar Lectureship featuring Aziza T. Shad, MD. Dr. Shad is a professor of neuro-oncology and pediatrics and oncology as well as the director of the division of pediatric hematology oncology, blood and marrow transplantation at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. She will be presenting “Cure Is Not Enough: Late Effects in Childhood Cancer Survivors.”
