    DID YOU KNOW

    UofL’s marching band — the Marching Cards — has been the “Official Band of the Kentucky Derby” since 1936. This Saturday, once again, the band will perform its traditional rendition of “My Old Kentucky Home” at Churchill Downs before the Run for the Roses.

     

     

    FACULTY AND STAFF NOTABLES

    Michelle D. Stevenson, MD, MS, has been selected to the Hedwig van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) Program. The chief of the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine and a professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Louisville, Stevenson is the 20th faculty member chosen for the program from UofL and will join the 2018-2019 ELAM class. ELAM is a yearlong fellowship for women faculty in schools of medicine, dentistry and public health.

    Advances in Neurology 2018

    May 19, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Churchill Downs Trophy Room, 700 Central Ave., Louisville, 40208; Free for UofL affiliates; Non-UofL affiliates: $15 for nurses, $25 for physicians
    The 10th annual Advances in Neurology course, hosted by the UofL Department of Neurology, will focus on neuromuscular disease. Neuromuscular medicine has undergone significant recent advances. Topics will assist attendees in the evaluation and management of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), myopathy and peripheral nerve disease.
