9.) PLAN hosts workshop on creating an equitable learning environment for students

Nov. 7, noon to 1:30 p.m., Houchens Building, Room 105

Educators have an obligation to treat students fairly, so it is natural to think that this means treating everyone the same. This workshop will explore the many ways the assumptions teachers make can privilege certain groups while disadvantaging others. We will see that when we fail to critically examine these assumptions, treating everyone the same will not lead to an equitable learning environment. Grad students interested in attending can register and find more info on the PLAN website.

    Additional Information: Calendar page.

The CV is important not only because it presents your research, teaching and service to potential employers, but it is also an important part of grant and award applications. This workshop introduces the basics of effective CV writing and provides an opportunity to receive feedback about your own CV. Whether you need to start drafting the CV or revise one you already have, this workshop is for you! Grad students interested in attending can register and find more info on the PLAN website.

    Additional Information: Calendar page.
