FACULTY AND STAFF NOTABLES Eleanor Lederer, MD, FASN, FACP, Professor of Medicine at the UofL School of Medicine, has been elected president of the American Society of Nephrology. Lederer is also the chief of the Division of Nephrology & Hypertension and the director of the Nephrology Training Program at the UofL Physicians Outpatient Center.

ACC Festival of Creativity and InnovationUofL is participating in the first Atlantic Coast Conference Smithsonian Creativity and Innovation Festival in Washington, D.C., to be held at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History in October, 2017. The festival will be a gathering of all institutions included in the ACC to celebrate creativity and innovation. Faculty, staff and students (graduate and undergraduate) are encouraged to submit engaging and compelling innovation projects to represent UofL.

Peers Student-Athlete Center and The Cultural Center are collecting items for local shelters. Diapers, gift cards, and hygiene items are among the most needed items. Talks/Seminars/Symposiums Workplace Dignity: A Qualitative Path of DiscoveryNovember 28, 5-7 p.m., Room E254, Ekstrom Library, Belknap Campus; free Special guest speakers Dr. Kristen Lucas and Cole Crider from the College of Business present on workplace dignity. Focusing on a diverse set of qualitative studies, Lucas will present both findings from research projects as well as insights gained into qualitative research techniques.
