    1.) Program: ‘White people engaging white people to achieve racial justice’

    September 27, noon to 1 p.m., Kornhauser Library Auditorium, Health Sciences Center; Free

    Carla F. Wallace is co-founder of Louisville Showing Up for Racial Justice and the national SURJ network which works to broaden the base of white people engaged in racial justice. Racial injustice impacts the health of people of color, white people and our society. To achieve racial equity, white people must move away from active collusion and silent consent in racial injustice. In this session Carla will explore the vision of SURJ and how to engage white people in addressing racial injustice. Free lunch provided if you RSVP by noon Sept. 26.

    ThinkIR is an open-access collection of scholarly works created by the University of Louisville community and sponsored by University Libraries. ThinkIR makes scholarship freely available worldwide and can preserve that scholarship for future generations. Current resources include student dissertations, theses, and faculty publications. The HSC Advising Center is located directly across from the Natatorium in the Studio Arts building (accessible using doors on University Boulevard).     11.) ‘Between Earth and Sky Daisy’ workshop planned at planetarium

    September 10, 10 a.m. to noon or 12:30-2:30 p.m., Gheens Science Hall and Rauch Planetarium; UofL rate: $12/scout; $3/adult

    Daisies board our virtual space ship to explore Earth’s various habitats from a bird’s-eye view. Down on Earth, they engage in hands-on activities that teach about seed dispersal and the effect water has on plants, rocks and soil. This workshop supports the “It’s Your Planet – Love It! Daisy Journey.”
