The free CardSafety app offers tips on dealing with on- and off-campus emergencies ranging from bomb threats to earthquakes. It also includes an auto dialer that will connect users quickly to campus police, 911 or UofL’s escort service.
CardSafety also includes an interactive campus map, which has been improved to help better navigate the Belknap, Health Sciences and ShelbyHurst campuses. The new maps include more locations and commonly used names to improve ease of navigation.
Some BlackBerry smart phone operating systems will not recognize the CardSafety application. It may be necessary to update to the newest operating system available for your phone.
The departments of Environmental Health and Safety and Public Safety worked closely with Information Technology and the Emergency Planning Group to develop the app, which already has drawn interest from other universities wishing to purchase it from UofL.
