Lundeana Thomas, director of UofL’s African American Theatre program, and Rinda Frye, theatre department chair, both have lead roles in Carolyn Gage’s play “Mason-Dixon,” which runsMarch 27-29 at Thrust Theatre, 2314 S. Floyd St.
Based on the true story of Elizabeth Van Lew and Mary Bowser, the play explores the relationship between two Union spies— one black and a former slave, the other white and a former slave owner—who meet again after 30 years.
Tickets are $10. Proceeds from the play will be used for an upcoming theatre arts student cultural exchange trip to Singapore. All performances are at 8 p.m.
