This year, the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights is celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Civil Rights March on Frankfort on March 5, 1964, and pictures of the march from the UofL Photographic Archives collection will be on display in the Archives and Special Collections gallery (LL17) in Ekstrom Library from Feb. 20 to March 28.
Several photographs documenting scenes from the march and its esteemed participants, including King, Powers, Robinson, fellow civil rights activists the Rev. Dr. D. E. King and the Rev. Dr. Ralph David Abernathy, and folk singers Peter, Paul and Mary, will be on display.
