Ramsey’s fight against colon cancer is a personal one. His sister is undergoing treatment for the disease.
“President Ramsey knows far too well the impact colon cancer has on loved ones, and we are grateful for his strong work and support to raise awareness for this disease and to make it a disease of the past, said Andrea Shepherd, CCPP executive director.
“Colon Cancer is the leading cause of cancer death among men and women nonsmokers in the United States, and Kentucky is in the top five worst states for colon cancer incidence and mortality. We are working hard to change this,” she said.More than 20 teams already have signed up for the 5K, which is chip-timed to determining finishing times. The event also will feature a Healthy Village, a KidZone, and music from The Max.
CCPP has a mission to end preventable colon cancer death and suffering.
