Priscilla Clapp’s free, public talk will begin at 1 p.m. in Room W104, Ekstrom Library, as part of the UofL Center for Asian Democracy’s Asia in Focus series.
Clapp, a retired minister-counselor with the U.S. Foreign Service, had a 30-year government career that included the 1999–2002 stint as chief of mission-Burma as well as service in South Africa, Russia and Japan.
She now is senior adviser to the Asia Society and Blue Moon Fund and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, International Institute for Strategic Studies and U.S. Institute of Peace’s international advisory board. She co-authored books including “Bureaucratic Politics and Foreign Policy” and two volumes about U.S.-Japanese relations.
