Auditions will be held from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 25 and 26, at Thrust Theatre, 2314 S. Floyd St. Callbacks will be held Wednesday, Aug. 27.

The department is casting for two shows, “Eda (Everyman)” and “Freedom Days”. The public may audition for one or both.

“Eda” is a Yoruba version of the medieval morality play “Everyman” by Obotunde Ijimere, directed by Associate Professor Nefertiti Burton. Roles are available for men and women of all ethnicities. Actors will read from scripts and should come prepared to dance. Rehearsals will begin immediately following casting. Performances are Sept. 24-29.

“Freedom Days” is a series of vignettes about everyday heroes of the Civil Rights movement by Steve Friedmandirected by Professor Russell Vandenbroucke. Roles are available for men and women of all ages and ethnicities. Actors will read from scripts and should plan to sing a song of their choice a cappella. Rehearsals begin Oct. 8. Performances are Nov. 19-23.

Scripts are available for temporary sign-out in the Theatre Arts Office, Room 117 HPES/Thrust Theatre, 2314 S. Floyd Street.
