Dr. Hector Martinez, UofL’s director of Pediatric Dentistry, is one of the people featured in WHAS 11’s “Hispanic Heritage” series as part of Hispanic Heritage Month.

Martinez played professional soccer in Mexico for about eight years, but stopped to focus on his education and career. Now, he coaches youth soccer in Louisville.

He said his objective in coaching children is to give them the best tools to learn integrity, values and “maybe it will help with their professional lives when they get older.”
