Day of Service

Volunteers are still needed for the 2nd Annual Day of Service, which is Friday, April 8.

The day of volunteering, which is open to all UofL employees, expanded from three sites in 2015 during the pilot project to four this year. The sites are:

  • Americana Community Center
  • South Louisville Community Center
  • Parkhill Community Center
  • Wayside Christian Mission

Up to 100 staff members are needed to perform tasks like cleaning, painting and spreading mulch. For those that register to participate, transportation will be provided along with food, materials, and a t-shirt.

“UofL allows staff members to take one day off a year to perform community service,” said Ralph Fitzpatrick, UofL’s associate vice president for community engagement. “We do this because we are committed to the city of Louisville and we are privileged to be able to give back.”
