Louisville, Ky. — During the Kentucky State Fair, the Kentucky Cancer Program, in partnership with UofL Health Care, the V Foundation, Metropolitan Urology, Allied Urology and the Prostate Conditions Education Council, is offering free PSA blood test and digital rectal exam screenings for prostate cancer. The screenings will also support a research study that will utilize plasma thermogram technology developed at UofL to attempt to establish a signature for prostate cancer that will hopefully prove useful for early detection and diagnosis. No additional blood or specimens will be collected other than what will be used for the prostate cancer screenings.
