LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville next fall will begin offering a doctor of philosophy degree in applied and industrial mathematics.
The Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education approved the degree at its Nov. 5 meeting. The graduate program will serve students who seek employment in business or industry.
The doctoral program is intended to produce top-level mathematical scientists with applied problem-solving skills who can contribute in many ways to Kentucky’s educational and industrial base, according to Kevin Clancey, U of L mathematics department chair.
