LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville is partnering with Cardinal Health to create a new center on the Belknap Campus that will provide students with job opportunities in the health care industry.
The Cardinal Health customer service center, known as “Launch,” currently employs 50 UofL students from a variety of academic disciplines with the potential for adding more. The students work alongside colleagues from Cardinal Health, performing customer service.
“This partnership is a tremendous benefit for our students,” said University of Louisville President Neeli Bendapudi. “Not only does it create flexible, meaningful employment, but it provides our students a great opportunity to work with a leader in the health care industry without leaving our campus.”
Launch is located on the third floor of the Cardinal Station building on Central Avenue. Cardinal Health, based in Dublin, Ohio, is leasing the space from the University of Louisville Foundation. Students are encouraged to submit applications online at cardinalhealth.com.
“We are excited about our space at the university,” said Ramon Gregory, senior vice president, customer support services at Cardinal Health. “The diversity of academic backgrounds is a valuable component to our business success. The insight and energy from students allows companies to gather information from important constituencies on college campuses where innovation and creativity fuel some of the best and brightest ideas.”
Students working at Launch perform customer service activities and gain meaningful insights into the health care industry. They have the opportunity to collaborate on special or strategic projects, including market research, data and analytics assistance and communications and marketing. The experience could turn into a career opportunity with Cardinal Health or another health care company after graduation.
Cardinal Health is a global, integrated health care services and products company, providing customized solutions for hospitals, health systems, pharmacies, ambulatory surgery centers, clinical laboratories and physician offices worldwide.
UofL has a number of industry partnerships that provide opportunities for its students including with GE Appliances and Kindred Healthcare. The university is aggressively pursuing corporate partners who lease space and provide job and learning opportunities for UofL students.
