The 30-credit-hour master’s level degree in engineering management, which has been offered at UofL since 1971, can now be earned without attending on-campus classes. Speed School officials said the degree can usually be completed in two years and is targeted to experienced professionals who want to move into managerial and operational positions. The program does not require that students take the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) or submit a thesis. “We expect a lot of national, and even international, interest in this online degree,” said Tim Hardin, director of the engineering management online program. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for engineering professionals to acquire valuable skills and network with their peers from across the globe.” Courses will focus on the business fundamentals of project management, finance, management, ethics and leadership principles.
