LOUISVILLE, Ky. – In an effort to promote oral health, UofL’s Dental Hygiene alumni will walk a mile Nov. 3 in the fourth annual Woodward / Burch Floss Walk.
Darrell Griffith, a member of the 1980 NCAA championship basketball team will take part in the walk, which will start at the University Club on UofL’s Belknap Campus. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., and the walk starts at 8 a.m. The registration fee is $10, and the first 100 participants will receive a free T-shirt.
All proceeds will go toward student scholarships and enhancements for UofL’s Dental Hygiene Program.
Following the walk, alumni can take part in the dental hygiene program legacy lecture and continuing education course. Course topics range from methamphetamine use and oral health to early oral cancer detection and smoking cessation.
